Well what a day.. hahahah
We trekked it to Darling Harbour, then sat through
many speeches.. Which majority of the room wasn’t
really interested in.
I know its hard to sit still for 6 hours listening to speeches
on English and the HSC… but really there were some key
points which were made.
Here are some to keep in mind about B E L O N G I N G.
1. Belonging can be influenced by many factors…
> School
> Peers
> Workplace
> Friends
> Mental Illness
> Family
> Gender
> Social groups and many more.
2. To belong is a human need…. As individuals we year to belong
3. Belonging is constantly changing state with in our lives.
4. Always understand both sides of belonging!! (to belong.. to not belong.. and the impact of this)
5. Ensure you use the synonyms and antonyms of belonging
Points about HSC response
1. BE PRECISE! DON’T WOFFLE ON! GET TO THE POINT!
2. Be specific! > what type of belonging is being explored in the text? (cultural belonging)
3. Widen your VOCAB
4. Use thesis statements

and thats including holidays..
